Online Shopping

I went through the following statement while browsing through the daily happenings - “Fashion took a big step forward last year. According to one estimate, US online apparel sales (including accessories and footwear) reached $18.3 billion in 2006 and replaced computer hardware/software as the largest online retail category. Unfortunately, by another measure, the percentage of a category's total sales transacted online, apparel is lagging. Consumers still prefer buying in stores where they can touch and try on clothing items”.

This statement showed the two versions of the typical human behavior. One – Embracing the new technology and the facilities it offers to the convenience. And the other is nothing can beat the feel and tough when buying.

I wonder how Internet has unleashed the potential of the online shopping, which is becoming the more and more common these days. Unarguably, the youth recognized the ease of shopping online or the ease of product research online initially while they shop for music or the like. Later on the elder population followed the online shopping trends.

One may worry, if online shopping continues increasing the sales volume by eating away the share of brick and mortar stores what happens to them. I think it is not a point to worry, because the answer is in the first statement, nothing can replace the satisfaction got by buying with real shopping which feeling the softness of the apparel or having a trail of an i-pod.

Television Advertisement

A Television Advertisement, advert or commercial is a form of advertising in which goods, services, organizations, thoughts, etc. are promoted through the medium called television. Most commercials are produced by an outside advertising agency and airtime is purchased from a Media Agency or direct from the TV channel or network.

The first television advertisement was broadcast in the United States at 14:29 on July 1, 1941, when the Bulova Watch Company paid $9 to New York City NBC affiliate WNBT (now WNBC) for a 20-second spot aired before a baseball game between the Brooklyn Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies. It simply displayed a Bulova watch over a map of the U.S., with a voiceover of the company's slogan "America runs on Bulova time!"

The vast majority of television advertisements today consist of brief advertising spots, ranging in length from a few seconds to several minutes (as well as program-length infomercials). Advertisements of this sort have been used to sell every product imaginable over the years, from household products to goods and services, to political campaigns. The effect of television advertisements upon the viewing public has been so successful and so pervasive that it is considered impossible for a politician to wage a successful election campaign, in the United States, without use of television advertising.

The Facts And Myths About Network Marketing

Here is a small note on facts and myths of network marketing which I’ve read in some article and likes to share it with you. Here it goes.

Facts
  • Network Marketing is a method of distribution and compensation that has been utilized in the United States for over 50 years and which is now spreading across the world. The Direct Selling Association (DSA), based in Washington, DC, represents the Network Marketing industry. The DSA has existed for more than 100 years.
  • There are in excess of 1,000 Network Marketing firms that distribute over $100 billion a year in goods and services. It is estimated that eight to ten million Americans are either part-time or full-time distributors. Tens of millions more are customers.

Myths

  • Network Marketing does not work. The big guys make all the money off the little guys.
  • Well, Network Marketing does work. What usually does not work is a particular company, product or distributor. You must decide for yourself whether you work or your chosen company works or the product works.
  • Let’s consider the concept of big guys versus little guys. Usually the people who perpetuate this myth are those who define fairness in terms of everyone receiving the same benefits regardless of their contribution or effort.
  • In Network Marketing, the people who attract, train and motivate the most people earn the most money. If you sell/consume $100 worth of product yourself each month, plus you build an organization of 100 people who do the same, you will earn a great deal more-100 times more, to be exact-than the person who only sells/consumes $100 per month. Now, that’s fairness! Why should someone earn as much as you if they’re not making the same effort that you are?

The Simple Guide Of Rugby Rules

The game of Rugby, has had its rules changed and evolved so many times through out the years that it now is very different from what it started out as but if you do decide to come out and ever watch a game of Rugby you will be wondering what the hell is going on...so here are the basics of Rugby.
Rugby is a game played in 2, 40-minute halves, with a 10-minute halftime break. Each team has 15 players and is allowed 7 substitutes. The positions are as follows:
  • 2 Props
  • Hooker
  • 2 Lockers
  • 2 Flankers
  • 8th Man
  • Scrum-half
  • Fly-half
  • 2 Side Wings
  • 2 Centers
  • Fullback

The field that rugby is played on is called the Pitch. It is a grassy field 70 meters wide by 100 meters long and separated equally into two equal halves by a white line.Scoring is done in one of 5 ways.

  • Try - when a player touches the ball to the ground in the opponents’ in-goal area his team is awarded 5 points.
  • Penalty Try - A player can attempt a penalty when a player would have scored a Try but was stopped by an opponent’s penalty. This is worth 5 points.
  • Conversion Goal - Conversion goal is attempted after a team scores a Try, a conversion goal is worth 2 points.
  • Penalty - Whenever a penalty is called the team who the penalty was called on gets to try for a penalty kick. If the kick is made that team gets 3 points.
  • Dropped Goal - A dropped goal is when a players runs the ball back after a drop kick during the games general play.

Just like in American Football rugby starts off with kick off which is referred to as a drop kick. Unlike American football however, there are no downs, no 10 yards to get, the game is continuous. The play does not stop when the ball hits the ground it is fair game. Passing is allowed but it must either be done laterally or backwards, forward passing is not allowed. However any player may kick the ball at any time, and once the ball has been kicked it is up for grabs from either side. Players often use this method to get the ball down field to teammates. Players may also run the ball until 1 of 2 things happens either they are tackled or they step out of bounds. When a player steps out of bounds it is brought back into play by a method called "line out", both teams line up 1 meter from each other in parallel lines and a player from the side that didn't put the ball out of play throws it in a straight line between the two teams.

When a player is tackled the other method of bringing the ball back into play is called "scrum", this is done by each team forming a tunnel and the ball is placed in between them, each side must battle for the ball against the other teams line until a player is able to push the ball backwards with his feet to his teammates behind him in the "tunnel". If you've been thinking this sounds a lot like American football, well it is, it was the forerunner to the American Football's "line of scrimmage". And that’s it, the basics of rugby, so goes out there and plays!!

My Apartment Checklist & Tips

If you are moving into an Atlanta apartment, it generally requires the coordination of professional moving services. But for those who are moving, often such complex services are not required simply because the amount of furniture and personal belongings making the move does not require the efforts of such professionals. In such a case, those who are moving can decide on to organize the move themselves – along with the help of their family and friends.

Plan Your Help – Apartment moving can be devastating and will definitely require a detailed planning. Those planning a move should be sure to plan the days of their move with care, ensuring that the help that they need will be available. Be sure that those who have offered help can commit to one or two days or just several hours. Your plan can even be helpful for all those involved as it will allow them to prepare accordingly and offer the time you need. Make appropriate assignments – coordinate for moving larger items as well as lighter boxes of belongings.

Larger Items Last – First move all lighter items that are boxed and can be easily transported by car. Larger items including furniture should be the moved in the last. If you are bringing your furniture with you it may be necessary to rent a larger truck in which to fit your items. Make sure that you get enough help to be able to lift and move the large furniture.

Rent a Truck – Even if you are moving to an apartment in another city you do not necessarily have to engage the services of professional movers. With the availability of smaller, inexpensive moving trucks that you can drive yourself, you may be able to easily move all of your items in one trip.

SEO Issues New Web Sites Face

No matter how good your SEO Company or in-house talent is, brand new Websites have a more difficult time achieving search engine success for competitive phrases than their older counterparts, particularly on Google. However, the worst thing that a new site owner can possibly do is presume that they are too late and decide not to pursue this marketing channel at all. A good SEO Company should be able to effectively work with a new Web site; setting the foundation for a remarkable success story while still achieving steadily increasing short-term benefit.

The Issues - There are many reasons why new Web sites face an uphill battle. What follows are only a few of the major stumbling blocks.

The Google Sandbox - There is much debate as to what exactly the Google Sandbox is, and even debate as to whether it actually exists. However, recent patent filings on behalf of Google would seem to confirm that one of the factors that Google will take into consideration when deciding how Web sites should rank is the age of the domain name. It is noted that there seems to be a penalty assessed to new Websites, especially those that seem to gain too many inbound links, too fast. This is all conjecture, but this would make sense.

Inbound links factor largely in Google rankings, and therefore many sites that were already popular in Google began selling links from their sites based upon that popularity. However, text-link buying is very hard to police.

Lack of Links - Unfortunately, in this case a new Website is faced with the opposite problem. Links to new Websites are called into question, but without incoming links a new Website has a slim chance of performing well on Google. This Catch-22 is obviously a sore spot for many owners of new Web sites.

Trustworthiness - For many years, a common SEO Company strategy was to set up numerous new Websites all for one company, each geared toward targeting a different search term. This was largely because search engines used to place a much higher importance on the homepage of a Web site rather than interior pages. Over time, search engines caught on to this trick, and as a result new domains are now looked at more skeptically. The prevailing wisdom seems to be that while it is relatively easy and inexpensive to set up a new Web site that targets a certain term, a Website that has been around for much longer and has a breadth of content has much more to lose and is less likely to attempt to game the system.

My Advice for Apartment and Tenant Search

If you are searching for an apartment or if you have to select from many apartments you may not know what to do. You may seek advices from your friends and their friends. But are they the right ones who can make you choose the best one for you. So ask some one who has sound knowledge and experience in this regard. I am one among that list of experts, I can say. I gave number of advices to my friends and their friends in choosing their right apartment. I also own three apartments in Philadelphia. I also have plenty of experience to share with those house owners who are looking to select their tenants. Your tenant may be a young professional and the young professional couple or single-parent family or young family or some roommates or a single student. Who ever it may be, you have to choose the right ones to make them your tenants. No body wants to have a tenant who irritates you by their living styles, paying rents, maintaining home, etc. At the same time no tenant wants to have his landlord inspects every day and insists on their way of living styles. Post your queries and issues to me, I am sure I will make an attempt to solve them for you in no time.

Plan Your Move Ahead

You should start planning your move no later than the date escrow is opened. When you're looking to find a mover, ask anyone who's recently moved to recommend a reputable mover to you. Once you have your selected companies in mind, obtain written estimates from them. Be sure the moving companies are licensed by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). It is illegal moving for profit without license. PUC movers also have insurance to cover for accidental breakage. I was taught the same when I was moving to my current San Diego Apartment last year.

Let your selected movers visit your home and see the contents before they place a bid. Find out in advance what your payment options are before making your final decision. Some movers require cash to cover the cost of the move.

After you select your mover, be sure to set the move date at least 1 - 2 months in advance. Moving companies usually won't move pets and sometimes even houseplants, so be sure to schedule arrangements for both if you need to. A lot of moving companies have free pamphlets you can read that are informative and helpful when it comes to planning and making your move. At least 2 weeks before your move, be sure to call the gas, electric, phone, water, garbage collection, and cable television companies in both your new and old location. Trash, sell, or donate your extra possessions. If you donate, make sure you get a receipt for your donations.

Mannequins - For Clothing Retailers

Retailers use mannequins throughout their stores to display clothing items. Full size realistic mannequins to mannequin heads, mannequins have found their way for retail display designers. Mannequins are so popular in the retail garment industry that they are beginning to invade other retail designs that are not focused on clothing sales. It is impossible to find clothing retail without single mannequin. Any clothing retailer wants to have atleast 4-5 mannequins in his store. The human eye loves mannequins for some reasons. They are interesting to the point that most customers will notice them, and for this reason, are a huge asset to the display design world, regardless of category. If you are a clothing retailer and do not believe in the use of mannequins, then realizing the amazing things mannequins are doing for so many other display environments should show you that they are incredibly valuable assets. Don't underestimate what they can do for your display.

Help escaping foreclosure

One of my friends faced a foreclosure last week. Really the situation is the worst thing to happen under the sun. I want to help him out but I could not do much because there is no enough time to find a solution. Later I thought of various ways to face the foreclosure. I browsed the Internet to find that. I came across many websites, which give many tips and suggestions on how to escape foreclosure, but some are not practical, some needs much time to implement and the rest will not make any difference. I searched for an instant solution to end the mortgage and to avoid foreclosure that is suitable for my friend. I found a site, which states that to end foreclosure in just seven days. That sounded exaggerated when I saw it first. But the website belongs to Rod Khleif, the famous real estate investor. If he states that it must be true. The website also offers an affiliation for the other websites. This will help the people who visit those web sites to find a solution for the fore closure.
