My Advice for Apartment and Tenant Search

If you are searching for an apartment or if you have to select from many apartments you may not know what to do. You may seek advices from your friends and their friends. But are they the right ones who can make you choose the best one for you. So ask some one who has sound knowledge and experience in this regard. I am one among that list of experts, I can say. I gave number of advices to my friends and their friends in choosing their right apartment. I also own three apartments in Philadelphia. I also have plenty of experience to share with those house owners who are looking to select their tenants. Your tenant may be a young professional and the young professional couple or single-parent family or young family or some roommates or a single student. Who ever it may be, you have to choose the right ones to make them your tenants. No body wants to have a tenant who irritates you by their living styles, paying rents, maintaining home, etc. At the same time no tenant wants to have his landlord inspects every day and insists on their way of living styles. Post your queries and issues to me, I am sure I will make an attempt to solve them for you in no time.

Plan Your Move Ahead

You should start planning your move no later than the date escrow is opened. When you're looking to find a mover, ask anyone who's recently moved to recommend a reputable mover to you. Once you have your selected companies in mind, obtain written estimates from them. Be sure the moving companies are licensed by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC). It is illegal moving for profit without license. PUC movers also have insurance to cover for accidental breakage. I was taught the same when I was moving to my current San Diego Apartment last year.

Let your selected movers visit your home and see the contents before they place a bid. Find out in advance what your payment options are before making your final decision. Some movers require cash to cover the cost of the move.

After you select your mover, be sure to set the move date at least 1 - 2 months in advance. Moving companies usually won't move pets and sometimes even houseplants, so be sure to schedule arrangements for both if you need to. A lot of moving companies have free pamphlets you can read that are informative and helpful when it comes to planning and making your move. At least 2 weeks before your move, be sure to call the gas, electric, phone, water, garbage collection, and cable television companies in both your new and old location. Trash, sell, or donate your extra possessions. If you donate, make sure you get a receipt for your donations.

  • Some of the features are hardwood floors, large windows and bright light, high ceilings, beautiful view, proximity to places you enjoy visiting: park, bookstore, library, gym, shopping mall, cafes, or restaurants.
