Questions to be Asked Oneself Before Selecting an Apartment

If you are staying in any of the Chicago apartments it will be like your temporary home, so make sure it fits your needs. Ask these questions before you step in:
  • Do you need a parking lot for your car? Do you love hardwood floors? Taking time to consider what you need and want will help you more confidently choose the best apartment.
  • What size of an apartment do you want? How many square feet do you want?
  • What rooms do you want? Do you need an extra room for a den, an office, a studio, a sewing room? How big of a kitchen? Number of bedrooms and bathrooms? How much closet and storage space do you need? How much counter space? Rooms big enough for large furniture? Queen or king-size mattress, extra-long couch, large area rug, long sectional desk, exercise equipment, piano.
  • What amenities would you like? Elevator, Intercom system, Doorman or other security system, Handicap-friendly, Parking lot, Cable TV, Gym or Pool, Specific Kitchen Appliances (microwave, dishwasher, broiler), Air Conditioning, Washer and Dryer.
  • Do you want specific features? Do hardwood floors make you smile? If there is a specific feature that will make you insanely happy and ease the troubles in your life, it might be worth the effort to look for this special feature.
  • Some of the features are hardwood floors, large windows and bright light, high ceilings, beautiful view, proximity to places you enjoy visiting: park, bookstore, library, gym, shopping mall, cafes, or restaurants.
