When ever the drug is being abused for the first time then abuser may feel happy with lots of pleasure. Because of this, the functioning of the brain starts changing due to unnatural flood of neurotransmitters. In some cases if the consumption is high they may even die.

Indications for drug addiction:

Both the physical and psychological activities are being changed because of the drug addiction.

Physical signs are:
The physical signs of drug addiction are different for different types of drugs. After consumption of the each drug the short term and the long term effects may get varied.
  • Changes in the eating habits and even changes in the appetite
  • Chronic cough because of some drugs
  • Blood shot eyes and even they are watery
  • Staggered walk
  • Poor facial skin
  • Excess sweating, shaking hands
  • Paleness in the face
  • Reduction in the sleep
  • Heart related problems like irregular heart beat and heart attack
  • Some of the drugs cause impaired vision and slurred speech

Behavioral signs are:
  • Gradual decrease in the performance
  • Always wants privacy and want to be in isolated place
  • Lack of interest in general things
  • Borrowing lot of money from others
  • Even stealing of the expensive items from the house
  • Irritability
  • Loss of concentration and memory
  • Making fatalities on the road
  • Making new friends
  • Glass pipes, rolling papers, hypodermic needles in their possession

What Is Drug Court?

A Drug Court is a special court that has handles cases regarding substance-abusing offenders by complete supervision, drug testing, treatment services and with immediate support and incentives. Drug Court provides individuals facing criminal charges for drug use favorable circumstances to enter a substance abuse recovery program in place of straight jail time. The terms of Drug Court are strict because the course of recovery is not easy. A candidate is tested many times, need to attend substance abuse recovery meetings and make regular court appearances to abide by the terms of Drug Court.

Underage Drinking Poses Threat To Teens

According to stats by the government, the law, which set the minimum legal age for drinking to 21 years, has reduced the number of fatalities, which included 15- to 20-year-old driver, by more than half. However, the harm caused by the underage drinking is more than the high way fatalities, road crashes, and 1900 deaths. Because this the country which has states like Virginia, where 15 percent of the alcohol purchased ends up in the hands of teenagers. In some states, it can be more.

According to another survey by the scientists of University of California, teenage binge drinkers who drink rarely but in large quantities have same affects as that of a teenager who drinks regularly. In both the cases, adolescents end up in incoherence of the brain’s white matter. White matter in the brain plays an important role in performance of a person in activities like reading, copying complex figures, and speeded coding of information.
