Things to Consider When Selecting An Air Conditioner

When deciding to buy an air conditioner there are various things that should be considered. You need to be sure for the money you have invested in an air conditioner will serve you for years to come and will operate effectively.

Following are some of the things that should be considered when buying an air conditioner.

Electricity consumption: Electricity costs are on a rise. In order to minimize electricity consumption, opt for the one that consumes less power. Electrical consumption of the air conditioner depends on the tonnage of the AC. Less electricity is consumed by lesser ton, whereas the AC that has more tons consumes much electricity. Identify the cooling capability for your space and then purchase the air conditioner.

Noise levels: You won't prefer a noisy AC especially when you are resting or sleeping. It is difficult to find an AC that makes no noise. The noise from the AC should not be too loud and irritating. Split units make lesser noise when compared to other types of air conditioners. It is because the internal unit does not contain compressor, it is placed in the external unit that is placed outside the house.

Compressor: The reliability and durability of an air conditioner depends on the compressor. A good compressor has more than five years warranty and works for many years without any hindrance or problem.

Maintenance: Every air conditioner requires regular maintenance to function properly for years to come. Negligence in maintaining the AC leads to decline in performance. Cleaning various parts of the air conditioner can reduce energy consumption by 5% to 15%. So select the one that is easy to maintain and clean.

Price: When buying an air conditioner, consider the cost that also include installation cost, stabilizer cost and maintenance cost.
