How to Select and Use the Tire Chains

Winter driving can be dangerous because of changes in temperature and road conditions. It is dangerous for even best drivers. Piece of snow chain is a part of the car emergency kit which helps on ice or snow roads in winter season. There are few tips to chose the tire chains, such as:
  • One can purchase V-shaped cross links chains which provide more traction to stop especially at the corners of the roads.
  • You can purchase ladder style chains. These ladder-style chains are better than ladder-style cable ones in deep snow roads.
  • You can choose chains which are made with tungsten tips because they are very harder than chains which are made with hardened steel.
  • You should take the size of the chains, they should be fit for tire.
  • You can purchase them through online also, but you should be careful about size and quality and material of the chain.
There is no use of purchasing the chains, if you keep them at home, you should carry those chains all the time, especially in winter season.

Chain installation:
The important thing is installation of the chain to the tire. First you can learn how put the chain at home and then it will be easier for future use. You should install the snow chains on front wheels if it is front wheel drive vehicle. If it is rear wheel drive then you put on back tires. If it is all wheel drive then you need to purchase two pairs of snow chains to fix on all the tires. You should set the emergency brake to your vehicle before you fix the chains to tires.

This information may help you to select the right snow and chain and how to use it. You have no need to use them on normal roads.
